Our Commitment to Privacy
Collection of Information
When voluntarily submitted by you as our customer, we collect personally identifiable information such as name, e-mail address, telephone number, birth month, birth day, purchase information. The information that customers voluntarily provide and that we collect is used for the limited purpose of meeting your specific requests and to drive our Fresh Rewards Loyalty Program.
Biometric data is voluntarily provided by customers at locations where we accept the biometric form of payment. American will only use this data to complete transactions for the customer at physical locations. This biometric data is associated with the customer’s account with American.
Storage of Information
American does not store cardholder data in any of its systems. Credit card data is stored by American’s credit card gateway provider using the best in class encryption technology available. Customers can securely remove their credit card from the vault using the application or web portal at any time. Passwords for Fresh Rewards accounts are stored encrypted by American’s loyalty provider. Our loyalty provider also stores historical items purchased detail unencrypted for customers who are members of our Fresh Rewards Loyalty Program.
Transactional data such as historical transaction details is stored by American unencrypted in our private databases.
Biometric data submitted by customers is stored by American and is hashed while at rest and in transit and is never shared with third party vendors. Fingerprint data is stored as an alphanumeric representation of the finger minutia data and never as an image of the finger print. The stored fingerprint data cannot be reverse engineered into a fingerprint. Customers can elect to have their biometric data immediately, completely, securely deleted from at a kiosk or cash register at any time. Biometric data will be retained until the customer either elects to remove their biometric data at one of our kiosks or cash registers or until it has not been used for a transaction in the previous six (6) months, whichever occurs first.
Sharing of Information
Your account information will never be shared with third-parties for any purpose unless required by law to do so. Personally identifiable information will not be shared with employers. Only aggregated non-identifiable data will be shared with employers.
Problem Resolution Options
Customers may reach out to American to resolve issues by using the Contact Us links on our web sites and within our Apps. Staff at our dining facilities can be contacted to resolve problems as well. Calling or texting 855-752-3112 is another option to reach out for help with an issue.
